Midnight Flyer

Early in 1994 I quit the last “real” job I would ever have and began my career as a freelance graphic artist. One of my clients at the time was Litehouse Salad Dressing and my main contact at the company was an absolutely wonderful person named Stacy Frank. Stacy and I became friends outside of work as we got together a few times to play our guitars and sing some songs. She was quite good at both and I, well, I wanted to be.

Later that year Stacy introduced me to some friends of hers who had a country band based out of Thomson Falls, Montana who happened to need a drummer. Thomson Falls is a little over an hour drive from Sandpoint and so I became their drummer for about a year. It was a good band and at the time worth the drive for $200. Gas was a lot cheaper than and I was much younger.

I’m sorry to say I don’t have any pictures of the band or of any of the places we played. Which is really hard to believe. Like I said, they were based out of Thompson Falls. We also played in Plains, Montana quite a lot and Quinn’s Hot Springs near Paradise on a couple of occasions.

I have a practice tape of us working on a couple of songs. I’ll listen to those again and see if there’s anything worth posting.
